MAKING SPACE FOR WHAT HAPPENED
Integration helps an experience become part of your life
Psychedelic experiences can bring insight, emotion, imagery, uncertainty, or profound shifts in perspective. Integration counselling offers a place to slow down, understand what emerged, and connect it with your relationships, choices, body, and everyday life.
Process at your pace
There is no required interpretation or predetermined outcome. We begin with what feels most present for you.
Welcome the whole experience
Meaningful, confusing, beautiful, frightening, and unfinished parts of an experience can all be explored.
Bring insight into daily life
Reflection can help you translate insight into grounded choices, relationships, boundaries, and ongoing care.
PSYCHEDELIC PREPARATION AND INTEGRATION
Support before or after a psychedelic experience
You do not need to know exactly what the experience means before reaching out.
Counselling can begin with the questions, emotions, or changes that are already asking for attention.
Before an experience
Explore intentions, expectations, emotional readiness, boundaries, supports, and questions in a counselling context. Preparation does not include recommending, supplying, or facilitating psychedelic use.
After an experience
Reflect on emotions, memories, images, body sensations, relationships, or shifts in meaning—and consider how they connect with everyday life.
After a difficult experience
Find support for fear, confusion, overwhelm, disorientation, or material that feels unresolved after an experience or retreat.
Psychedelic integration counselling may support you if…
- You have already had a psychedelic experience and want space to process it
- You are returning from a legal retreat and want grounded post-retreat support
- An experience felt difficult, confusing, destabilizing, or unfinished
- You want to connect insight with relationships, choices, boundaries, or daily life
- You are considering a future legal experience and want counselling-based preparation

Questions about psychedelic integration counselling
What is psychedelic integration counselling?
It is counselling that helps you reflect on and psychologically process a psychedelic experience. Sessions may explore emotions, memories, images, body sensations, relationships, meaning, and how insights relate to everyday life.
Do I need to have had a positive experience?
No. Integration can include experiences that felt meaningful, confusing, frightening, disappointing, overwhelming, or unfinished. You do not need to arrive with a clear interpretation.
Can you help after an ayahuasca or psychedelic retreat?
Yes. Gaia can provide post-retreat integration counselling for psychological processing after an experience. Gaia does not recommend retreats, refer clients to substance providers, or facilitate psychedelic use.
Does Gaia provide psychedelic-assisted therapy or substances?
No. Gaia provides preparation and post-experience integration counselling only. We do not prescribe, administer, sell, source, recommend, or facilitate access to psychedelic substances.
Is integration counselling appropriate during a crisis?
Online integration counselling is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an urgent medical or psychiatric emergency, contact emergency services or an appropriate local crisis resource.
Do I need to be located in British Columbia?
No. Gaia provides online counselling to clients across Canada. However, insurance reimbursement for sessions is generally available only to residents of British Columbia. Always check directly with your insurance provider to confirm your eligibility and coverage before booking.
