Mood Disorders

Mood Disorders

When a significant change in mood disrupts your life activities, it should be considered a mood disorder. Although the exact cause of mood disorders has not been accurately identified, most professionals agree that it involves a combination of biological and environmental factors. Each condition is as different as the patient. Mood disorder is an emotional mental state. It usually manifests in unstable conditions such as periods of extreme happiness, extreme sadness, or moving from one mood to another. It is common for feelings and emotions to change, and feelings of sadness are part of life. When someone experiences extreme versions of these conditions for several weeks or longer, and it begins to harm your life, it can be considered a mood disorder. It can inhibit your ability to function in normal routine activities like work or school. That is the right time to think about counselling and therapy services. If there is a family history that contains a diagnosis of mood disorders, you do have a greater chance of developing them. However, a traumatic event in your life can trigger the onset as well. In addition, a person can dramatically increase their chance of acquiring this condition as a result of medication or substance abuse.
